We're going to Europe!!!

Well...I'm going to try my hand at this blogging thing...here we go.  This is pretty much just a place for family and friends to come check out pictures and see what Colin and I are up to while we embark on our 5.5-week-honeymoon-graduation-end-of-board-exams extravaganza!  I have no idea how often I will be able to update, but keep checking :)

We leave for London on October 2nd, going to Scotland October 3rd, then the rest is going to be riding by the seat of our pants.  We got ourselves a Eurail Global Pass with the general idea of traveling through France, Italy, Greece, Czech Republic, Germany, and Netherlands, before returning to London and flying home on November 11th.  Wish us luck!

Oh, and if you have any places in mind that are must-see, please post them in the comments!

  1. 2 full days in Prague is good. Berlin needs a bit more time, as well as Amsterdam. Paris, well, 3 days minimum. :)

  2. Sooo exciting! Make sure and get up into the Highlands in Scotland. The Royal Oak pub in Edinburgh has great music and good company. B&B's in England, Ireland and Scotland are usually pretty fun. The coasts of France and Spain are freakin' gorgeous. Remember to stay up late in Rome. Take the vaporettos in Venice, not the Gondolas. If you get to Ireland, rent a car, learn how to drive on the wrong side of the road, and do the ring of Kerry. Don't forget to spend at least one night in a sleeper car on the Eurail, and if you're planning on spending ANY time at the Louvre, Paris needs at least a week. The Latin Quarter is really fun, less expensive than most, and full of young people doing fun things. They don't really do Halloween in Europe, so carving pumpkins at hostels will usually get you free beer and good conversation (hell, it got us a free room) Buy a Fodor's and a Lonely Planet and read the hell out of them. Have soooo much fun!
